About Me

Lydia is an adult transracial adoptee and the creator of Becoming Lydia Faye on Instagram. 

She started her career working with youth in foster care quickly after earning her BA in Social Work. Lydia seeks to cultivate safe spaces for transracial adoptees to heal and  share their feelings regarding their adoption. Lydia is passionate about championing adoptees on their journey of discovering and embracing their racial identity.

During her time in college Lydia mentored a few transracial adoptees and saw many similarities in their stories. Lydia knew they could not be the only adoptees struggling with the lack of connection to their culture and struggling with feeling sad, lonely, angry, and like they didn't belong.

This was the catalyst that led to Lydia sharing her personal experience of being trans-racially adopted. Lydia deeply desires to bridge the racial and emotional gaps between trans-racial adoptees and their white adoptive parents.

Lydia is currently working towards her Masters in Clinical Social Work. In hopes to be a therapist.

Lydia is a lover of all things makeup and self-care. She enjoys listening to music, traveling, spending time with her boyfriend, friends and family, and is a self proclaimed master chef!
